Design Thinking Workshop

Design Thinking is often described as a professional toolkit, but here I discovered it is something much deeper: a framework for intentional living and empathetic leadership.

Key Takeaways

What I learned

01
The ability to pivot from "having the answer" to "asking the right questions" is what separates a manager from a visionary leader. This shifted how I approach every venture validation.
02
Mme Kawtar Kandri created a "psychologically safe" environment that didn't just invite us to learn, but motivated us to excel. Her approach became my model for facilitating the hate speech workshop 5 months later.
03
Design Thinking scales beyond products — it applies to community building, team dynamics, and personal development. I immediately applied these principles to Vanguard-Community's governance design.
04
High-quality mentorship amplifies collective potential. The best training isn't about content delivery — it's about creating conditions where people discover their own capacity.
My Perspective

How I see it

This workshop was a turning point. Before December 15th, I understood Design Thinking as a methodology — a set of tools for product development. After it, I understood it as a way of being in the world. The empathy mapping, the iterative prototyping, the bias toward action — these aren't just business techniques. They're how you build genuine human connection. This understanding directly shaped how I later facilitated the Counterspeech Workshop for 50 participants, where the session doubled from 2 to 4 hours because participants were so engaged.

Professional Relevance
How this event creates professional value
Workshop Facilitation
Mme Kandri's approach became my template for facilitating the Counterspeech Workshop — creating psychological safety, empowering participants, and scaling impact.
Venture Validation
Applied Design Thinking directly to TawjihYou, Colife, and Dar L'Khir — testing assumptions before committing resources.
Community Design
Vanguard-Community's governance model was shaped by empathy-first principles learned in this workshop.
Teaching Methodology
The 160+ hours of instruction I've delivered all incorporate Design Thinking principles learned here.
